Welcome to T.W.Daniel Experimental Forest

The USU Drought Management Initiative was funded to advance the understanding of drought in Utah and in the Western US. Instrumentation has been established in four of Utah’s major vegetation species; namely, conifer, aspen, sage and grass/forb ecosystems. Properties of snow, vegetation, soil and atmosphere are measured every 30 minutes at a dozen monitoring sites. Data collection began in 2007 and is supplied year round to USU’s server via radio telemetry.
